My 5 Favourite WordPress Plugins

We love working on WordPress! It’s probably our favourite CMS for general websites.

No matter the site we’re building, we can almost guarantee that we’ll install most of these plugins every time.

1. Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO makes sure your site meets the highest technical SEO standards. It also gives you the tools to optimise your content for SEO and overall readability.

Even the free version is pretty great, and it’s a super easy tool to learn and use regardless of your skill level.

The little traffic lights on each page are an easy way for clients to understand and manage minor SEO improvements themselves also which helps them start thinking about SEO actively.

2. Filebird

We have always tended to be a little obsessive with how we file and sort things. WordPress not having native folders to store media in irritates me beyond belief.

FileBird allows you to create virtual folders to categorise your WordPress media file uploads. So when you move files and folders, that won’t break the permalinks to your images in the page/post content.

It also keeps our highly obsessive brains satisfied.

3. Elementor

We all know Elementor, but it still deserves a shoutout.

While there are plenty of page builders out there, we always recommend Elementor to clients so they’re able to make easy edits to copy and images after a website is built.

It’s easy to use, flexible and has a great online community should you ever want to customise your web designs.

4. Sitekit

Sitekit makes setting up Google Console, Analytics, Ad Sense and Page Speed much easier.

It provides authoritative, up-to-date insights from multiple Google products directly on the WordPress dashboard for easy access, all for free.

5. Smush

If you (or your client) has a tonne of images and reports stored on their WordPress site, Smush is definitely something you should look into.

Optimise images, turn on lazy load, resize, compress & improve your Google Page Speed with the incredibly powerful and 100% free WordPress image smusher.
