In today’s digital world, your website is often the first place people go to learn about who you are, what you do, and how they can get involved. And when it comes to social enterprises, that first impression can make all the difference. Whether you’re working to create jobs, drive change, protect animals or fight for fairer policies, a well-crafted website can help you connect with the people who believe in your mission.
As a purpose-driven business ourselves, we know how powerful that connection can be. Eb and Flo was built with the goal of doing good. That means designing websites that not only look beautiful but also support the organisations that are working hard to make the world a better place. We offer reduced pricing, volunteering, and payment plans because we understand that funding, grants, and growing a social impact organisation can be hard.
Why Your Social Enterprise Needs a Great Website
A website for your social enterprise isn’t just about having a digital footprint – it’s about telling your story, reaching the right audience, and making it easy for people to take action. That could mean volunteering, donating, joining your community or just learning about what you stand for.
Here’s why getting it right matters:
1. It helps people align with your purpose
The right website should reflect your values, clearly communicate your mission, and show your impact. It should help someone new to your organisation quickly understand why you exist and why it matters. This emotional connection is what turns visitors into supporters.
2. It increases visibility and reach
When we build websites, we do it with SEO front and centre. From on-page structure to technical optimisation, we make sure your site is easy to find in search engines. For social enterprises in Australia, having a locally-optimised website is essential – we work with clients across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and beyond to ensure your site reaches your community and beyond.
3. It drives action
Every social enterprise needs something different from their website: more volunteers, more donations, more partnerships, or more awareness. A well-designed site makes it easy for people to do what you want them to do. Clear navigation, compelling calls to action and streamlined donation or signup processes can be the difference between a casual visit and meaningful engagement.
We’ve Been There: Supporting Social Enterprises Firsthand
We’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible charities, movements and community initiatives across Australia and internationally. Here are just a few projects that show what we mean when we talk about building websites with heart:

Brandkind
Brandkind is a branding community, for the community. We love everything they stand for – a collective of marketers and designers offering low-bono and pro-bono services to social enterprises, funded by generosity. We helped them bring their story online and showcase the many ways they support others.

Witton Barracks Community Centre
Based in Brisbane, Witton Barracks is a heritage site reimagined as a thriving hub for social enterprise and community connection. Their goal is to preserve history while building the future, and their website needed to reflect that duality. We designed a site that brings together past and present while helping locals get involved.

Rough Patch
Rough Patch is a grassroots, non-profit counselling service responding to the mental health crisis in Australia. Born out of the need for accessible support, they work hard to make affordable counselling available to all. We were honoured to help them design a space that feels warm, inclusive, and easy to navigate.

Not Farming
Launched by We Move Europe with Milk & Honey PR, Not Farming is a bold campaign calling for change in EU agriculture policies. While not based in Australia, its vision and tone align with the values we support – grassroots impact, fairer systems, and rallying communities around important causes.

Social Enterprise Jobs Summit
SEJS is reshaping what employment can look like in Australia. By creating opportunities for people locked out of traditional work systems, they’re redefining what purpose-driven employment means. Their website helps share that mission and build momentum around it.

MSPCA: A Night at the Salesians
A passion project for us, the MSPCA is Malta’s oldest animal welfare organisation. We supported them with an event website for “A Night at the Salesians,” combining storytelling, ticketing and donation features in one seamless build.

Betta Insight
Betta Insight tackles the tough stuff – drugs, crime, sex ed and more – with courses for young people and their families. It’s real, raw, and incredibly important work, and we designed a digital platform that helps them deliver those resources clearly, securely and accessibly.
