CK Health is a growing multidisciplinary wellness clinic offering naturopathy, psychology, nutrition, and integrative medicine services. Based in Newcastle and operating nationwide, the clinic serves clients through both in-person and telehealth appointments, supporting people managing chronic health conditions, mental health challenges, and preventative wellbeing.

DATA ALWAYS TELLS A STORY

This project was interesting for all the right reasons.  CK Health had actually built an impressive digital foundation.  They had strong organic traffic, consistent patient flow, as well as years of helpful blog content ranking well and bringing people to the site.

But why weren’t those visitors converting to bookings? That’s the question that got us excited. So we did what we love to do: dug into the data

The analytics told us exactly what was happening. People were arriving at the homepage and bouncing immediately. Service pages had low engagement. The conversion rate from visitor to booking was significantly lower than it should have been.

In the end, we found that the problem wasn’t the content or the SEO. The problem was the experience. The website looked dated. The design felt inconsistent. The calls to action weren’t clear. And despite all that traffic coming in, the site wasn’t actually guiding people toward taking action.

This is where a lot of businesses make a mistake. They see poor conversion and assume they need a complete rebuild. But CK Health’s foundation was solid. They just needed a strategic refresh that respected what was already working while fixing what wasn’t.

REFINE, DON’T REINVENT

Rather than recommending a costly from-scratch rebuild, we focused on what would create the biggest impact with the least disruption.

We started with the homepage. Using the analytics data, we completely redesigned it with better layout, clearer hierarchy, and more effective calls to action. Our goal was for visitors to immediately understand what CK Health offers and what to do next when they land on the site.

Once the homepage direction was locked in, we developed a flexible page template system that could be applied across the entire website. This meant we didn’t have to redesign every single page individually. Instead, we created a reusable system that modernised the look and feel while maintaining consistency.

Throughout the process, we retained the existing copy and SEO-performing content wherever possible. We weren’t throwing away years of work. We were just making it look like it deserved to look, given the quality of the clinic itself.

MODERNISING THE DESIGN

We updated the typography to improve readability across devices while also strengthening overall brand presence. Type sizes, spacing, and hierarchy were reworked so that key information could be scanned more easily, particularly on service-heavy pages where users were previously overwhelmed by dense layouts. This made the content feel more accessible without reducing the depth or credibility of the information CK Health was already known for.

We also refined the colour palette to feel more modern, cohesive, and intentionally aligned with a healthcare context. The previous palette had subtle inconsistencies across components, which created visual friction from page to page. By tightening the system and standardising usage rules, we created a more unified experience

Finally, we improved mobile responsiveness across the entire website, which was a critical factor given the high proportion of users accessing the site via mobile. Layouts were adjusted to ensure better spacing, clearer hierarchy, and more intuitive interaction patterns on smaller screens. This included refining button placement, adjusting grid structures, and ensuring that key conversion points remained visible without excessive scrolling.

BUILDING SYSTEMS FOR THE LONG TERM

Beyond the visual refresh, we integrated several key features designed to support both user experience and internal management.

A counsellor matching quiz helps patients find the right practitioner without getting overwhelmed by options. Instagram feed integration keeps the website feeling current and connected to their social presence. And we created a suite of social media templates so the team can maintain consistency without starting from scratch each month.

Most importantly, we set up the backend with editable blocks that make future updates simple. CK Health’s team can now manage the site internally, make content changes easily, and add new information without needing a developer.

This is what sustainable design looks like. It’s not just about making something beautiful once. It’s about building systems that can grow and evolve with the business.

The refreshed website feels significantly more modern and aligned with the quality of the clinic itself. But the real win was proving that not every business needs a complete rebuild to create meaningful impact.

Sometimes the strongest solution is identifying what’s already working, improving the weak points, and creating systems that are easier for clients to maintain long-term.

The result is a cleaner, more cohesive digital presence that better supports the client experience and positions the clinic for sustainable growth.
